Frequently asked questions

Is the translation as good as a human translation?

No, and we do not claim it is. A great literary translator is still better. But the chain we use — style sheet, passage-by-passage translation, review by independent agents, arbitration, automatic checks — produces a text that is faithful, consistent and pleasant to read, for a fraction of the price. For a book that would otherwise never be translated, it is the difference between existing in a language or not.

How long does it take?

24 to 72 hours in general, depending on the length of the book and the number of languages. All our translations run in deferred processing, which lets us keep prices low. You follow every step online.

Which formats do you accept?

DOCX (Word), ODT (LibreOffice), EPUB, Markdown and plain text. No PDF: a PDF has lost the structure of its paragraphs. Export the source file from your word processor.

Is my manuscript used to train an AI?

No. Your text is sent to our model provider through its professional interface, which does not train its models on this data. We neither publish nor resell it, and we delete your files 90 days after delivery.

Do I have to disclose AI on KDP?

Yes. Amazon asks you to declare AI-generated content in the “Content” tab of your book — an AI-produced translation counts, even if you review it afterward. It is a declaration to Amazon, and it is not shown to readers.

Who owns the translation?

You do. You remain the holder of the rights to your work, and we assign you all rights to the delivered files. Just check that you actually hold the translation rights to your book (if it was published by a publisher, they may belong to them).

What if a passage does not suit me?

The translation report lists the passages we invite you to check. If an obvious defect slips through — a missing paragraph, a mistranslation, a badly rendered name — report it within 14 days: we redo the passages concerned free of charge.

Can you translate from or into a language that is not on the list?

Write to us through the quote request: many other languages are possible.

Is the formatting suitable for IngramSpark or other printers?

It is designed for KDP, but the PDF follows print-on-demand standards. For IngramSpark, choose bleed and check the trim size; for a particular request, ask for a quote.

How do I pay?

Online, by bank card, on a secure Stripe payment page. You receive an invoice.
